Whyalla Hospital and Health Service is part of the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network. Whyalla provides a wide range of services utilising local general practitioners, resident specialists, visiting specialists and telemedicine for people in the surrounding areas.

The Whyalla Hospital is one of the four designated general hospitals in Country South Australia. Our hospital provides a wide range of services using local general practitioners, resident specialists, visiting specialists, and telemedicine. 

The facility is co-located with SA Pathology, Dr Jones and Partners Medical Imaging and Community Health Service. These facilities include:

• 73 inpatient beds
• 24-hour emergency department
• 20 day surgery beds/chairs
• 4 chair renal dialysis unit – currently expanding in redevelopment to 6 chairs (infrastructure for 9 chairs)
• 6 chair chemotherapy room
• 2 operating theatres
• endoscopy suite
• specialist consulting rooms.
• MRI
