Alice Springs Hospital is the specialist referral centre for Central Australia, with 160 beds providing services to the 27,000 residents of Alice Springs and a further 20,000 people in remote communities across an area of 1 million square kilometres, equivalent to the size of NSW.
Alice Springs is located in an area of great scenic beauty with rugged ranges and spectacular gorges in an essentially arid, desert landscape. There are numerous sporting, recreational and cultural activities with good shopping and educational facilities to suit families and single people.
Despite the isolation, Alice Springs offers excellent services and facilities, including sporting facilities of international standard, modern shopping centres and medical facilities. A full calendar of events and visiting attractions provides interesting leisure activities. This climate is enviable, offering year round outdoor weather conditions.
