Cooma Hospital and Health Service

Bent St, Cooma NSW 2630

Cooma Hospital and Health Service is a 41 bed facility with renal and oncology outpatient services onsite with 24 hour Accident and Emergency.

In November 2014 in partnership between Charles Sturt University, the University of Wollongong and Southern NSW Local Health District, a Nursing and Midwifery Rural Clinical School opened. The School offers undergraduate nursing education.

The NSW Government is investing $18.6 million to improve the current clinical facilities at Cooma. The upgraded hospital will enhance the sustainability, functionality and safety of health and services in the community. The upgrade includes an expanded Emergency Department and new front entrance.

Set among rolling plains, legendary rivers and snow covered peaks, Cooma is the largest town in the Snowy Mountains region and the gateway to the state’s alpine area. It is only an hour’s drive to Canberra and the ACT.

There is skiing in winter and golf, tennis, squash, basketball and netball in summer, to name just a few.

Shopping is a breeze in Cooma with large variety of shops and loads of free on and off street parking.

Cooma also has an airport that links to major Australian cities.
