Alice Springs Hospital is the specialist referral centre for Central Australia. With an 18 bed Emergency Department and eHealth NT System providing services to the 28,000 residents of Alice Springs and a further 20,000 people in remote communities across an area of 1 million square kilometres, equivalent to the size of NSW.
The Emergency Department typically comprises; 1-2 Consultants per shift with a supportive team, 1 admitting officer, 1 Registrar, 1 – 2 HMO’s and 1 intern. Feedback from FACEMs who have worked at Alice Springs previously is very positive. The facilities offer high-quality accommodation.
Alice Springs is located in an area of great scenic beauty with rugged ranges and spectacular gorges in an essentially arid, desert landscape. There are numerous sporting, recreational and cultural activities with good shopping and educational facilities to suit families and single people.
